Holidays are upon us Smile

One big holiday problem for dogs especially is chocolate consumption. It doesn't take a lot of that ingestion to start to cause problems. Please keep your holiday candy stashes away from your pets! If you see your pet or suspect that your pet consumed ANY chocolate, please call your veterinarian or COVE immediately!

Dogs and cats also like to eat christmas decorations and tree ornaments. These can be deadly as they can cause GI obstruction. Call us immedicately if this occurs. This may require surgery to correct. Most of these things will show up on X-rays and we can then determine if surgery is warranted.

Pets can succumb to the affects of cold weather also, especially if they are not acclimated. Please provide areas of shelter that protect against the wind and precipitation. If you notice your pet becoming acutely sluggish after being outside in the cold, please call us immediately!

Have a wonderful and safe holiday season!!!!!! the COVE staff
